    Description

Beautiful, looking to be handmade, embroidery on this black taffeta Edwardian petticoat.
The upper section is splitting, but the embroidered flounce looks to be in very good condition, with no splits or weakness that I can detect.
There is another layer underneath the outer flounce, which most likely protected it from deteriorating.
It's about 14" deep, with a 74" circumference at the top of the ruffled section.
There is also a hand done ruched section at the back, giving lots of fabric to attach to a dress or for other projects.
One of two I will be listing.
    C.1905.
