    Description

Beautiful pair of split crotch Victorian bloomers (pantalettes) in fine madeira linen with rare heavily hand done brodere anglaise lace ( beautiful lace embroidered so thickly it takes on a tufted quality), enterdeaux and pin tucking. A little froth of delicate needle lace around the edge. They appear to be all hand stitched in very tiny even stitches.
Came from a old Minorcan home in historic Saint Augustine 1870-1890 time frame.
    They measure 23 inches long
Waist measures 28 inches around (folding 1/2 inch over for pinning) so about 29 inches in total
leg openings measure19 inches around (not at the ruffle but right above where the ruffle starts)
They  were probably not worn much and have no holes , no broken lace, they do have around 6 small brown spots in various places and mild yellowing here and there.
As you can see they have a generous amount of fold over fabric in front and back so there would be no viewing of the unmentionables when a wire crinoline was tipped up too far.
They have been hand laundered and hung to dry - not pressed.
